Membership ...
If you would like information about the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, or Sigma Chapter specifically, please feel free to contact any of the officers that you may already know. Or you may contact the webmaster.
Membership in DKG is by invitation. For information concerning necessary qualifications for membership, please visit the International site:
https://www.dkg.org/content/membership-dkg
The prospective members is invited first to attend the October membership meeting, where she will learn about the history, functions, and purposes of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. She is expected to reply with her decision in writing to the chapter president within a few days of the October meeting, Initiates are inducted into membership in November with full ceremony, thus becoming full members with all the rights, privileges, and responsibilities thereof.
Dues for the International organization are paid with the chapter and state dues and have remained near $70 to $71 for Sigma chapter members for the last several years. Dues are paid yearly before Oct. 31; failure to pay dues, of course, negates membership although reinstatement is available. Dues and costs are somewhat more during the initiation year, when the initiate purchases her Keypin and chapter badge upon which the Keypin shall be worn.
Qualifications for reserve membership are determined by International. Should a member become infirm and therefore unable to attend meetings or move to an area where no DKG chapter resides, then she shall be presented to the chapter for acceptance as reserve status. Reserve membership is for active members who meet the criteria; members are not initiated into the chapter as reserve members.
If you would like further information about Sigma Chapter and membership in The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, please contact any officer for an invitation to attend a meeting as our guest.
